In 1908, Anderson began writing short stories and novels.During the twenties,Anderson published Poor White (1920),The Triumph of the Egg (1921),Many Marriages (1923) and Horses and Men (1923).Although considered to be a minor work by the critics,Anderson's most commercial successful novel was Dark Laughter,published in 1925.Anderson died of peritonitis in Panama in 1941,aged 64.
